What is Escape the City?
Escape the City is a mobile outdoor escape game. Many know the principle from the escape room: solve puzzles as a team, combine clues, crack codes and work together against the clock. Only here it does not happen in a closed room, but outdoors – the entire city centre becomes the playing field.
Teams are guided by a game app on a tablet that leads them step by step through the mission. There is no fixed room, no setup and no prior knowledge needed: each team gets its tablet, and off you go. Fresh-air movement meets brainwork – exactly the mix that bonds a team.

Bamberg has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1993 – an exceptionally completely preserved medieval city, grown over seven hills and three historic quarters (Bergstadt, Inselstadt, Gärtnerstadt). More than 1,300 monuments in the tightest of spaces make the old town an ideal playing field: short routes, a new scene around every corner.
The landmark is the Old Town Hall, which stands on an artificial island in the middle of the Regnitz and is reached via two bridges – a building like no other. Add the four-towered Imperial Cathedral with the famous "Bamberg Rider" and the old fishermen's quarter "Little Venice". Each of these places can become a puzzle station – teams cross paths along the way and meet up again at the end.
And Bamberg has a trump card: its unique location on the water. "Little Venice", the row of old fishermen's houses right on the Regnitz, is one of Germany's most beautiful backdrops – a detail that can even be woven into the story on request. By the way, Bamberg is also famous for its smoked beer – a fitting way to round off the game.

1 · The story
A toxic cloud spreads over Bamberg. Your team slips into the role of scientists who escaped the disaster lab – now you must produce the antidote and save the city.
2 · The game
In small teams you follow clues through the old town via the tablet, evaluate hints and crack puzzles. Movement and brainwork alternate – every solved task brings you closer to the antidote.
3 · The support
Experienced team guides set up the game and are reachable by chat and phone throughout the event. You have nothing to worry about except solving.
4 · The finale
Together against the clock: whoever completes the mission in time saves the city. At the end the winning team is crowned – a moment you'll still talk about over the closing get-together.
Takes place in any weather – rain ponchos or sunscreen are included.
